On the Trace

I’m currently halfway through a week-long ride on the Natchez Trace. With Fuller Center, I’m riding from outside Nashville (Franklin) to Jackson, Mississippi. We’ve had three days of riding so far, but limited internet so I’ve not posted until now.

Day 1 of the trip was a build day in Franklin. We worked on two houses on Saturday morning in an area of town called “Hard Bargain.” These families have lived in the same house for generations. Gentrification is trying to push in which makes it difficult for those low-income residents to pay taxes and afford upkeep. Here are some photos from that build day:

Day 2 was a very rainy day. We went to church in the morning but then got on the Trace in driving rain. Towards the end it was stinging my eyes because it was coming down so hard.

These are photos from inside the church showing how we draped things EVERYWHERE.

Day 3 and 4 will be tomorrow’s subject. Hint: the weather improved.
