…I will not listen to the radio tomorrow. Instead I will bike and geocache and focus on the beauty of the earth.
Last week I lost a dear friend. She had defeated cancer, but the treatment left her body weak. She couldn’t fight a nasty virus over the holidays. At age 48, Kim slipped away and left a grieving husband, four incredibly wonderful children, broken-hearted parents, and many friends who weren’t ready to say goodbye.
In the shadow of that, all this hullabaloo about the inauguration and who is being self-righteous or bullying or whatever seems very childish and trite. I just don’t find myself able to engage.
Cherish the love you see around you. Envelop yourself in the warmth of dear friends. Move your focus to things eternal. And be kind.
